that would be illegal ! you can only get your ammo from an *RFD end of ! distributors can only sell to RFD's or to police and government

Some of the RFD's on here deal directly with European suppliers if that's what you need, nothing illegal with that.

erm, no. You can buy from an individual, a club, an association, or a business; if two parties are entitled to posses, then they may trade. And 'distributor' is a commercial term; I am not aware that it holds any special position as far as firearms law is concerned; if they will sell to you then you may buy from them.

Best to post it here so that others can benefit, I suspect that carriage costs would hike the price up. Carriage costs is always the killer with ammunition, powder primers etc unless you are able to buy pallet loads or happen to be passing the seller anyway and can collect.

This has been discussed elsewhere by the same guy.

Talking about buying 50k rounds or something to get a good rate.

But was unable to explain how he will get authority to possess or purchase that many.

Also, good luck with trying to get any factory / wholesaler or whatever selling that many rounds to a private individual.

Out of interest, OP - how many can you possess on your FAC ?

You may also find European wholesalers loathe to ship to the UK. I used to deal with a German outfit that would not ship primers or ammunition despite selling me as many Section 1 firearms as I wanted. Manufacturers might supply a bona fide business but they would likely want you to buy a container load.

I was surprised to hear what the trade price on a crate of 880 7.62x54r is.......I nearly cried!!!.

I looked into it couple of years ago. I did find a seller that would sell me a crate of mixed 50K rounds of 7,62x39 & 7,62x54. International transport at the time was very reasonable at about GBP 150.
My idea was to get 5/10 shooters that would pre-pay all the ammo and a FAD that would hold them for us, for a fee of course, releasing them to us within our own respective FAC quotas as we were shooting them. I found the shooters but sadly never the willing FAD
