Never under estimate how scared or stupid the people are these days.

Of course no self respecting terrorist would do such a thing - take all that brass to a scrappy - but people want their fame these days.

Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!

Last week I weighed in about 40KG of mixed brass, no drama but the guy serving me was ex EOD. Seemed to like sniffing the 9mm. They did add a surcharge though since it might have the odd live round in (they said). I went through the lot twice prior to chopping it in and there weren't any.

Not sure what you want from this thread.
Are you asking us if there is a chance of someone on the workforce calling the police? Possibly, but I don't know them.
If you're worried about this I suggest the owner at least mentions it to the sheeple who work there and then they are prepared for it.
Though calling them sheeple might be inviting trouble and a call to 999

I have been weighing brass in for years never had a problem. The yard I take it to pays cash for it.

All of our club spent brass and lead from the bullet catcher goes for scrap and there have been no issues whatsoever.
Saying that ... I was disposing of some fired steel Russian rimmed cases at the local recycling centre on one occasion when one of the staff there became rather 'animated'.
Having disposed of similar packages at the facility previously, I'd usually approach the supervisor and explain what was in the bag and emphasis that the contents were entirely safe (around a hundred cases each visit). One of the guys who works there is a re-enactor so is quite keen to collect the cases otherwise they normally end up in the skip.
However, on this visit, the resident jobsworth decided that he required my contact details and 'authority' to dispose of the cases. When asked for his contact details he wasn't quite so forthcoming and he mumbled something about the police. I called the female supervisor over and explained the situation whereupon she instructed the guy to stop being such a 'knob' and put the cases in the skip. She did apologise for the inconvenience (there was no need) and ended the conversation with those immortal words .... " we just can't get the staff these days".
What a very nice woman
