Schultz & Larsen - New importer

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

At long last it looks like we have a new importer for Schultz and Larsen rifles in the form of Alan Rhone Ltd.

http://www.greatdanerifles.com/

We have dealt with Alan Rhone a few times and they are always spot on so hopefully this will be the start of seeing S&L rifles gain some exposure here in the UK instead of being a well kept secret.

We saw S&L's in the GRS stocks at the factory 3-4 years ago ready for shipment to Italy and they were light, under 2kgs from memory and they looked OK as a lightweight sporting rifle. These days the GRS stocks are reasonably popular over here. I have fitted them in the past and they are superbly made and finished with absolutely no work required to fit, the barrelled action simply drops straight in.

Quite how adding a GRS stock and a heavier barrel makes them tactical is questionable however you can be sure they are going to be comfortable to shoot and going on my experience with S&L rifles they will be superbly accurate.

The laminated wooden stock on my M67 is superb.

The illustration on the S&L website appears to show the Tactical with an adjustable "Hunter" GRS stock.
It definitely looks a bit barrel heavy. The "Hybrid" stock, although heavier, would have been a much better choice.

If only GRS could manufacture a Bolthorn chassis to fit the S&L action then we'd be onto something!
