A strange title you might think but all will be revealed. My shooting jacket is made by Musto I love it I have had for at least ten years. its been back to the factory once for a refurb. Iv worn it in all weathers. I hang it up in a wardrobe in the spare room she keeps threatening to wash it. Out of site out of mind is my philosophy. For a few weeks now she has been complaining of a strange smell up stairs I can not say I noticed. Any way Saturday I chucked it in the back of the car and set off for Catteric hmm definitely a odd smell in the car. Arrived at the range put my gear on the firing point looked at the dark clouds and donned my shooting jacket definitely a odd smell. I checked the pockets in the inside detachable pocket I found a white paper bag with what looked like melted butter in it and a foil tray. The smell nearly knocked me over yep a steak pie I reckon its been in there at least six weeks. I disposed of the pie re donned my coat and got down to some shooting job done. Once I explained to the guys the reason for the pong every thing was fine. A very reasonable bunch of guys Im sure they have all experienced the same problem at one time or other.
The coat is hanging in the garage she has threatened to throw it out. Women strange creatures a bit of deodorant and it will be fine.

You are going to spray a six week old pie with deodorant and eat it?

It was a perfectly good pie.

You infer that you are loathe to wash your jacket ? Why ?

There may be another pie in another pocket ??

I don't want it to fall to bits anyway its a nice colour sort of olive green with bacon fat, tomato sauce. The odd splattering of tomato soup, tea, coffee. Egg yolk all ways egg yolk. I can usually rustle up something to eat rummaging through the pockets.
I don't know why I'm reluctant to let her wash it (I have no idea how to use a washing machine or a dryer) I'm not sure that if I gave her the nod it would not come back small enough to fit a five year old. I have to watch her she's a clean freak you can eat your food of the floors in my house. Except for 6 week old pies of course. I did check the pie out thoroughly before chucking it out some of it looked edible.
I guess I'm worried it wont be water proof anymore.

Never thought of that I suppose I should check thinking back I'm sure I bought a slice of cheese and onion quiche I don't remember eating that either.

I wouldn't bother with the pie, why don't you just eat the jacket.
