Hi all
just looking for a little advice.
i am wanting to purchase a low priced (being scottish!!) rest or bag, 2 i have identified is the MTM Predator front rest or the Calwell front shooting bag.
it was mainly for to zero the scoped military rifles i have and/or any long distance. we usually shoot from a pit which may/may not help decide what to go for.
my enfield does have a swivel stud attached and did wonder about a bipod but dont know what to look for or what would fit the swivel stud
any advice greatly appreciated
douglas

MTM rests have a rubberised finish on them which will cause increased friction between the rifle and rest during recoil, this could potentially screw up accuracy. They are also very light and quite flimsy.

A bag I would say is more versatile and if you buy a rear bag as well probably a better option IMHO.

Be aware that sling swivels will interfere with recoil/accuracy under firing if you are not careful about placement.

A Harris bipod or similar attaches to the sling swivel and is therefore a universal fit I think and as attached to the rifle, is one less thing to carry to your FP. Also it will probably have the most elevation adjustment out of all three!

Best advice, beg/borrow/steal what you fancy, shoot on it and make a decision as to what works best for you.
