No cannelure

Does this impact the crimping stage during reloading? If so is there a special procedure/tool that needs to be used to crimp other than standard crimping die?

Why are you crimping?

is it for an underlever?

Cast would be better for the underlevers.

Canneluring or crimping condom bullets is not a good idea as the spring back between lead and the jacket is different, lead doesn't spring back the jacket does. As the bullet is the most important part of the load why abuse it so?

I do not crimp any of my reloaded ammunition for bolt action rifles.

Yeah this. Might be different if I was reloading calibres that produce prodigious amounts of recoil (which .308 doesn't).

Incidentally, "The ABCs Of Reloading: The Definitive Guide for Novice to Expert", C. Rodney James, 2011, explicitly cautions against crimping bullets that do not have a cannelure.

I do, but I only use the Lee factory crimp on non-cannelure bullets.

One misleading factor is the addition of a cannelure on some bullets when it is not needed as it can be very confusing, especially when it appears to be in the wrong place!
