Erma m1 carbine .22WMR
I've got a hankering to try out a WMR semi auto and these gas operated carbines looks like they might be good fun, has anyone got any experience with them?
Re: Erma m1 carbine .22WMR
I had the .22LR version for a while. Good fun (even with the operating rod on it's way out; ITL sell good replacements).
If it's anything like the 22LR version the mags are built like "solid outhouses", rare and enormously expensive- when I advertised mine on guntrader I had someone from France buy the two 15 round mags I had- they were worth twice as much as the rifle was and he was very grateful that I sold him them.
Again, not sure on the 22WMR version but the .22LR had a very common fault of stripping the rearsight mounting screw out- there are various workarounds.
Good fun little rifle but not one I massively miss and not worth (IMHO) the silly prices dealers seem to advertise them at. Obviously the WMR is worth it just for the gas operated "novelty factor" :)

Yeah. I've had the .22LR a few years back, loved it, couldn't hit a barn door though.
I was under the impression the WMR was quite a different beast!
Chris.

A friend of mine has the WMR version and I have shot it, you will have to check your range limits as we could only shoot it outside and he did say the ammo is expensive and being semi auto you may get through quite a bit. In the end I went for the straight pull version in the original .30 M1 calibre

Good point, we shoot up to 44 mag on our main range but I'll check. Thanks.
