Evening all, as per the title, started casting the net for a good wartime dated No5, I don't want an ex Indian example, but a good original rifle, with a very good shooting bore, not too bothered regarding cosmetic condition as I would like to refubish it (re bed if needed) and put my own stamp on it.

Minsterley Ranges have a nice one in at the moment, used to belong to one of the guys that works there and I believe it has been bedded and is an honest example with the bayonet lug etc intact.

Many thanks guys, looks like my new variation will have to wait until the new year now, but I wont be shooting that much more fullbore until the new year, so no problem in delaying a few months before seriously looking for one

MFL in suffolk, I can heartily recommend them. Got a lovely SMLE earlier in the year, even offers to take it back if you dont like it, I played with this but didnt give it a good examination.
The people are good eggs though.

What do they shoot like, I was always lead to believe that accuracy was a problem?
