Blank Pistol delivered Loaded

so today I was very happy to receive a Mondial blank firing starter pistol that I had won at auction over the weekend

when I opened the box everything seemed normal, the magazine was inserted in the pistol as I've seen many people do for posting this kind of pistol

quickly double checked on-line for a safe way to remove the magazine, simply pull the trigger and push it out
so with the gun pointed in a safe direction i pull in the trigger, and there goes my hearing for the next couple of minutes. aaarggh

once the magazine was out I was horrified to find that it was fully loaded with 6 blanks(3 of which had been fired, including the one I just shot)

suffice to say I was not particularly impressed

and so an email has been sent to the auctioneers to try and find out why this happened and hopefully next time the will be more careful(and i will be more careful about inspecting and unloading firearms with magazines in them)

on the bright side at least i know it still works

so have any of you ever had a similar experience when collecting a firearm or other equipment?

Bid on some stuff last week - LOTS of warnings about S.1 & S.2 needed for certain items = but ZERO warnings/advisory notes about the very many tubs of powder & primers among a few of the misc. lots on sale

They WILL need to square themselves away of they'll be losing a fair few ££££ of commission in the way of fines

I was going to leave them nameless at least until they responded to me, but you got it right

that's very worrying if they are doing that sort of thing regularly.

makes me worried someone's going to get a rifle or pistols and accidentally shoot someone as they take it out of the box

So, there is NO magazine release button, lever or catch then whatsoever. ...surely if you pull the trigger it will "fire" as you just proved

Is it striker fired or a hammer set up...weird and dangerous by the sound of it. What model is it?

What if you load and make ready then want to unload or make safe before you actually fire ?

according to the manual, to take the magazine out when loaded you need to pull the trigger in slightly(the trigger was a bit stiff so the force to pull it back slightly was more than was needed to have it go the rest of the way)
no the smartest system in the world
I've since tried several times to unloaded in the way the manual says, but still find it very difficulty to do without the hammer dropping
(ill be sure to take it apart once I'm back to my tool kit later this week)

That's frightening. If this were a firearm their negligence could have had fatal consequences, and people have been killed by blanks in the past. Surely you can't send even a blank firer through the post if it's loaded and cocked?

That particular pistol is also incredibly stupidly designed. There's really no way to unload it without firing off the whole mag? I would regard that as dangerously unfit for purpose.

I've heard people complain that you can't take down a Glock without dry-firing it, but this is ten times worse, because you can't visually or physically check the chamber.

The little metal bit on the bottom right is the magazine( the pistol fire 6mm flobert blanks)



You load the magazine into the front of the muzzle until it clicks and is flush with the front



Then it ratchets back after each pull of the trigger until it comes out the back of the pistol

you can technically remove it without firing, but it means pulling the trigger about halfway back and pushing the magazine out with a pen or similar object, im sure this was relatively easy to do when new, but this gun is certainly a bit stiff all round making it very difficult to remove safely
