I'm hoping somebody may be able to point me in the right direction.

I've recently acquired an early BSA No.9 aperture sight which has a damaged windage arm missing the end socket that has the eyepiece screwed into it.

Are there any people/ gunsmiths out there who specialise in old or new replacement parts for vintage sights? I was thinking of trying Fultons at Bisley as a start.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have heard that Fultons have a drawer full of 'bits and pieces' and do some repairs. Otherwise you'll need to ask around for a replacement windage arm.

Google the `Classic Gun Company`, Jim Hallam carries BSA spares.

Cheers for the info, I've emailed Fultons and will wait and see. Had a quick look at the Classic Gun Company website and it looks promising.

Alas, Fultons don't have a draw full of goodies. However, their speed of service was impressive.

I will plod on.

Can you post a photo of the damaged piece? There is a chance that an engineer I know might have a go at making a replacement / repairing yours using a complete one I have as a template. Failing that try Jim Hallam.

Have you tried ebay? There are always plenty of different iron sights on there.

Robert303 - I'm presently struggling to attach a photo, once I've mastered this new black art I'll post pics. It is a threaded pin approx 40 mm long, 4.5mm diameter, with about 10mm of the threads machined off one end and a flat surface for a locking screw to engage. The other end should have a downwards facing capital 'D' shaped socket that takes the eyepiece. The thread types are a mystery, they are finer than a BA.

I may have sorted the damaged part from evil eBay!
