One of my 'worse weather' hobbies is a bit more creative and involves mostly 3D designing of stuff, just recently i've been getting some of them 3D printed :)

When i'm shooting clays I like to row my cartridges up on the stand before shooting them, then it's not unusual for me to knock them over or completely throw them over the edge, well not anymore :)





And also after following a thread on another forum about a barrel mounted GoPro i thought i'd have a go at making up a mount for them, here it is as it's just arrived, the idea being some foam lining to stop any damage to the barrel and having it attached with some velcro straps to keep it in place :)





I also fly Multirotors and one of the alternatives we use to GoPro's is a 'RunCam', nice little form factor and HD quality so i've made up an adapter for it to fit in GoPro mounts and i'll soon be testing it to see if it can handle the recoil mounted on a barrel, the cameras only cost about £40 delivered so not the end of the world if it craps out...

How much would it cost to produce a cartridge tray that held 50 cartridges? (It would need to hold the cartridges 'diagonally' in pairs though rather than directly above one another) Assuming you would be willing to do it of course!

I'm a little bit restricted by print area but may just be able to fit 50 in, i'll have a play when i get time :)

I could probably laser cut that, what kind of gap would you want between carts?

If you can laser cut it, i'm half way through laying out a load of circles in Solidworks

There is no way i could fit a 50 cart layout on the printer i have easy access to unfortunately :(

To outsource it to one of the large companies would be cost prohibitive... (£400+) but i have put a request out to some of the 3D printing groups i am in to see if someone has a machine big enough to print one at a reasonable cost...

Failing that i'm happy to throw the drawing file over to Demonic69 for him to see if laser printing is viable :)

Its actually a plastic/solid one i'm after, rather than the two layers of metal type shown above, that was just the only picture i could find quickly to show the staggered layout.

With the layered/aluminium one shown above cartridges have a tendancy to 'tip over' (obviously not completely but enough to make picking them up harder) if you happen to twang it while frantically reloading.

They're usually made of a solid wooden block which i begrudgingly use for a big clay flush shoot i go to (they provide them). I just thought having a 3D printed one would be cool (and upset people who find my synthetic Browning Cynergy 'offensive', that little bit more ), didn't really take into consideration that the printer would have to be pretty massive.

All is not yet lost Lots of printers of different sizes out there, it'll be good for me to make 'relations' with someone with a larger print bed so hopefully someone will be up for the challenge...

If not, i could potentially do, 2 x 25(ish) trays that lock together side by side, i'll have another look at it later on

The tray looks good. How much plastic did it use? Also is it solid or hollow?
