Pros and cons of K11 versus K31 ?

#1 Post by reiver xxv »

Hi
Looking for advice from owner/users of K11's and K31's. I will use the rifle for informal target shooting as well as short range deer stalking. I reload so no worries with load development. Looking to hear the pro's and con's of both as undecided what to get ! Also looking at Swedish Mauser and Lee Speed. Any advice welcome.
Thanks

Not a great deal of difference in all honesty.
The K31 has a stronger action, but both are incredibly well made and finished rifles,
The K31 has a barrel that is 2" longer (though same overall length) and if I recall correctly a sight radius that is a few inches longer.

As said both great gun, I own a K31 and have shot a K11, would happily give one a home (preference for me though would be the G11 as I primarily collect infantry rifles)

k11 has a smoother action and is shorter but k31 is more accurate and slightly lighter (i think)

did someone in the past mention that k11's are better for cast boolits? (might have been 96/11)

k31 seems to have more bolt on bits availiable

k31 comes in beech or walnut - k11 are only walnut?

Either of the Swiss will give you a good rifle as for that matter will a Swedish Mauser and a Lee Speed. At the end of the day it will come down to which one 'Grabs You' on either 'Looks' 'Feel' or possibly price.

Thanks for the help folks, much food for thought ! I'm being more and more drawn to the K11 or K31.

In my experience the K31 is a bit more accurate; the K11 has a smoother action cycle; the K31 is a bit heavier than the K11. I own two of each model at this stage and enjoy the K11 more but the K31 is a very fine rifle.
