Hi everyone, now i may be asking a silly question here but here goes anyway...i have a moderator slot on my FAC and no longer require this as i use my .223 on the range and foxing but havent had my rifle screwcut and this isnt a problem, now i believe the FLD class a mod as a "firearm" and thats why it has to be entered onto the FAC, so heres the big question, do you think i could use that slot of my mod "firearm" to replace it with another firearm 7.62 rifle ? Technically its not a gun one for one but it is a "firearm" one for one...im ready for the banter/stick so fire away lads :good:

It's a slot for a slot = a one for one.....so YES

Done it a few times

I think that you can do a one-for-one variation to change a moderator slot for a rifle slot.

As per Saddler, you can definitely do it. Most of the moderators i've applied for where 1-4-1'ed for FAC shotguns O:-)

While on the topic, I sold my .17HMR rifle a few weeks ago, never bought a mod for it but I still have the slot on my ticket.
I'm just about to send in for a different variation. Would the .17HMR mod slot still be valid for exchange even though I no longer have a .17HMR rifle?

Yes and you should do it anyway as you no longer have a 'good reason' to own it without the rifle (well, according to Durham anyway). My force would've been on the blower as soon as they got the transfer notice of the rifle being sold telling me to get the mod slot off my ticket 8-)
