What does practical shotguning involve?
Thanks

Stuff like this really.

You need a minimum equipment level of a 8+1 shotgun, hopefully with screw in chokes, and a cartridge belt.

That does look fun! It's something I never even considered until I came on here, but I've been planning my way into it for the last couple of months now.

Get yourself up the M6 to Carlisle Small Arms Club and give it a try :good: If you email Vanessa Duffy vduffy16@aol.com she'll be able to tell you when the next match is on there (or at Crocketford if you're will to go a bit further) The only issue at the moment is the World shoot incoming up and everything is on hold at the moment for that (and a big shoot at Dartford in a fortnight). Failing that get in touch with Mick or Ian at Rossendale Fusiliers near Oldham

FWIW - you need to be a UKPSA member (Not sure if you are or not Sim) for a L3 match and have passed the safety course IIRC.

Does the NRA Target Shotgun Introduction Course fulfil the requirement for a L3 Match?

Thanks Nick. I haven't shot in Darford since Stone Lodge was levelled! Likewise, UKPSA membership lapsed some years ago during a rather large "bun fight"....

I'd say no in all probablity - however, ping Vanessa Duffy on the mail address Blackstuff posted and you'll get a definitive answer (She's the UKPSA Chairperson). Andrew Duffy shoots target shotgun and IIRC was involved in getting it going over here FWIW.

Yeah I joined both UKPSA and F4i after said fight, then NRA bid for running IPSC in our region which annoyed UKPSA and so on. Of late I've let the F4i membership lapse - it seemed to have gone very quiet vis a vis matches and tbh I've only shot club level matches this last year anyway. It's getting harder to travel to shoot what with the odd jolly to Sennybridge to shoot full bore rifles, and then various MOD ranges in the midlands (I'm up in Yorkshire and my club currently can't get on MOD ranges so I joined another club we have links to).
