Not quite as fast as last time. This variation was dropped off on the Monday lunchtime. Printed/signed/dated on the Wednesday and mail stamped on Thursday. I wasn't home so don't know when it arrived. I do not want to move to bristol and lose this awesome dept!!

Avon & Somerset aren't too bad at the moment, last couple of variations I had were done within a week, just have to watch out for their stupid more that 12 guns = monitored alarm rule.
That being said, some staff in there are very clued up these days

Have they joined "forces" so to speak?
I remember the firearms licencing dept was at Police HQ in Welwyn Garden City and I know they moved to Harpenden, they were absolutely brilliant when I moved to Spain even writing directly to the Guardia Civil here, in Spanish, confirming that neither I, nor the shotgun I was importing into Spain had a criminal record :)

yeah, on the cusp of bringing Cambs into it too (although you would think it would be Bucks, but not for some reason) not sure if its staying in Harpenden or not, it would be nice if it did, even if it is only a door in the wall. time will tell

They really saved my bacon a few years ago, I basically chucked my shotgun in the back of the car, with a load of ammo and the rest of my rubbish, got on a car ferry from Portsmouth to Santander and drove across Spain with an illegally imported firearm :( Nobody told me I needed paperwork and I'd never even heard of an international firearms permit. A phone all to Harpenden got me the necessary permit, sent to Spain and arriving in 4 days!
