Over the years I have tried most of the bullet pullers on the market and I can't say I've ever been happy with the results, most of the pullers either mark the bullet or damage it in some way. Last week I came across the grip n pull bullet puller, I watched the videos on youtube and read reviews on it and in the end I thought I would give it a try.

It arrived yesterday, last night and this morning I gave it a try and I have to say I am more than happy with it. It requires very little effort to pull the bullet, the bullet isn't marked in any way with not even a scratch on it. This morning I pulled a dozen Yugoslavian 1999 milsurp bullets with the waterproof sealer on them and this puller pulled them with very little effort and lets face it some of the milsurp stuff can be a bit of a pain to pull.

Most benchrest shooters use this type of puller - as you state - they don't damage the bullet. Our bullets are quite 'soft seated' - I'm impressed they work with milsurp stuff.

Like I said above it required very little effort to pull the bullets on the milsurp stuff. Have to say this is a really good little tool.

Can't say I've ever noticed any damage to the bullets when I've pulled them, however I've only ever had to pull about 30 bullets I seated too long when first reloading.

Not that the kinetic thump makes me feel uncomfortable, because I don't think a bullet would go off from that kind of energy, however, though the plastic its made of feels sturdy, it doesn't seem like the thing will last my whole shooting career. It does work on a wide variety of calibres off the shelf though. I may have to look at a puller such as the one you've shown, but for now, this "whack-a-mole" style will do for me :)

I too have a 'bullet hammer' it has a spongey coating in the area the bullet goes into to prevent damage to it. The only downside is the powder going in there too but its simple enough just to tip out.

It is a bit disconcerting whacking the hammer at first but you soon get used to it. I hit it off an Argos catalogue placed on a concrete floor, which stopped the hammer getting scuffed.

I use a bit of old mouse pad between it and something solid for the same reason.

I use my thumb, but it does tend to bend the case necks.

I guess it depends on the type of bullet being pulled, I've found that on soft pointed bullets and Ballistic Tipped bullets the kinetic type pullers damage the bullets tips.
