Hi guys this rifle is my 98/29 persian mauser , i have shot afew mausers german , yugo , swedish but i have to say that my personal favourite has to be the persian mauser , in my opinion it has the best caliber that a military mauser has been chambered in (7.92x57) it has the 98 action , probably the most proven bolt action that has ever been developed and coupled with that a nice long 29inch barrel and the quality of manafacture is second to none , the persian mausers were manafactured at the Brno plant in czechoslovakia before the outbreak of ww2 . the Iranian soldiers that were issued with these rifles simply referred to them as the Brno .

Lovely condition your Persian Mauser. They are very nice indeed. I saw a 1895 Chilean Mauser quite recently and that was in beautiful condition. The stock and blueing was almost perfect.

A colleague has a Ludwig & Loewe Boer War Mauser, which is all matching and a cracking rifle. It had laid undiscovered for decades (maybe even 90 or so years) in someones loft who passed away last year and shoots very well indeed.

In my opinion the 7x57mm Mauser is one of the best-balanced cartridges ever designed. This is particularly remarkable since it was introduced in 1892. It was a military development and was adopted by Spain and several South American countries. It was used with brutal success against the British in the Boer War in South Africa and against US troops in the Spanish-American War.

In the hunting field, the 7x57mm Mauser has proven to be one of the best all-around sporting cartridges of all time. It combines a relatively flat trajectory, moderate recoil, a wide selection of bullet weights, and sufficient energy to cleanly dispatch most species, worldwide. It has been used successfully for the harvest of every species of big game on Planet Earth!

In Great Britain it was called the 275 Rigby, after that famous gunmaker adopted this chambering in 1907, in connection with import of other Mauser products. Many other British gunmakers have also chambered this round. In Europe, this is still a very popular choice for all-around use.

That is a very nice looking rifle, I know someone who has one of these as a Mauser sniper and it has taken many competitions in the past. He swears by it.

it really is a great rifle thanks guys , it shoots very well , 1000 yards with some practice and luck is very doable and the front sight is different to what you see on most mausers but i think it looks good and serves a purpose .

lapua 338 i have to agree the ludwig loewe are probably some of the finest mausers ever made and the 7x57 is a great caliber , i think sometimes the older calibers are overlooked to hastely and could be applied with great sucsess to modern firearms . the 6.5x55 being the perfect example . :)

thanks dirtbag it looks good now but when i brought it , it was in abit of a state not only the wood was rough lookin but some clown had redone all the metal in a grey phosphate finish very ugly so i threw some money at it and got it reblued , some might say a bad thing but in my opinion i have restored the rifle to its original configuration , shes my baby now .

Wood is lovely.
