Round nosed bullets in lever?

Hi all.
I've just bought some ammo for the Henry and it's round-nosed. The last lot was flat pointed, designed for tube-fed guns.
I'm assuming it will be fine, it was bought from syss and they know their stuff. Just checking that nobody has had an issue with it before.
Cheers

Not really a good idea, in my view -- though it's unlikely to happen, the round nose pressing against the primer of the round in front in the tubular magazine could cause it to go off, under recoil. Clearly the more powerful the ammunition, the more risk you would run.

It would be safe to load two, chamber the first, and then insert a new round into the magazine after each shot. Or single-load them.

Any chance of an exchange? Did the gunshop know what you were putting the ammo through?

Round nosed lead? Load 'em up! FMJ in a relatively hard recoiling cartridge may be an issue, but around the pistol caliber no worries.

I've found blunt round nose to be fine in my Marlin but I would NEVER be tempted to use pointed bullets.

They're just lead aye Sim, I figured you'd know.
Being marlin experts I doubt syss would steer me wrong.
I was really wondering if anyone had actually seen a problem.
They're only .38spl so I doubt the recoil would jarr them too much.
Thanks for the replies guys

Or even better get a Savage 1899, the best underlever ever made.

With its rotary magazine, including round counter, it will handle any bullet shape.

Neither of those take .357 :-( the blr looks nice, not sure about the rack and pinion action though!
The savage, in my opinion, is ugly! The action seems fantastic though.
