I worked in the Basque region of Spain for a while, they have huge cliffs and big black vultures of some sort (I mean BIG, as in ten foot+ wingspan!) They will try and herd animals over the edge of the cliffs and then pick the bits up from the bottom. Apparently they have been known to do this to unsuspecting tourists as well.
