Please excuse the blatant self-publicity, but I revived my shooting blog a month or two back. I'm trying to get posts up once a week, with an emphasis on training. http://gunandrun.blogspot.co.nz/ Feedback and suggestions for further articles welcome.

Cheers,

Gaz

Interesting and detailed article.

I would be interested in your thoughts on shooting in hot weather (Bisley- recently?) and cold weather (training outdoors in winter}
I've seen some top shooters wear a lot of upper body layers even in the heat , red and sweating! Tea towels on the head ?
How do GB shooters manage in hot countries- is there official team advice?( They seem to win a lot.) Perhaps running fitness is the key.
Maybe this is not enough for an article though, unless it's about Wind and Weather.

Phil T, your wish is my command http://tinyurl.com/oymmo5v

The bottom line is that you have to shoot in exactly the same gear in all conditions (assuming you've perfected the setup of jacket and underlayers) otherwise your performance is not going to be consistent or at your best when you need it to be, so you've got to deal with the heat. Fortunately this shouldn't be a major issue in a wide range of conditions, if you take a few basic precautions.
