IOR Scopes
Tried searching but didn't find any in depth discussion on IOR scopes.
I have two Vortex Viper 6-24x50 MRAD FFP scopes which I've enjoyed, but I fancied getting some nice quality glass for another rifle which currently does not have any glass on it. I had originally considered Night Force but read that the IOR scopes (shown below) with MP-8 reticle had really good clarity and won't break the bank. I like the idea of FFP and prefer to stick with MRAD just because my other scopes use this.
IOR Tactical 3-18x42, £996

IOR Tactical 3.5-18x50, £1,249

Do any of you guys have any experience with this brand, or with these specific scopes? How do these really compare with similar featued Night Force?
As an FYI, I shoot at 100m paper targets and also on Sennybridge F range, nothing serious.

Re: IOR Scopes
I have one IOR scope, the Compact Spyder 9-36x44, which I sourced from the UK supplier, opticswarehouse.co.uk and I'm 100% happy with it. Very clear glass and good turrets with zero stop and positive clicks.

Tiff has the ??-52 monster jobbie, awesome scope, and if you run out of bullets you can batter anything to death with it, solid piece of kit
Re: IOR Scopes
I have 2 the beast and the 3x18x50. I also have a nightforce 12x42x56 NXS and a habicht 6x24x50. The poorest glass is the Nightforce by a long way. It seems the more popular they are the more expensive they get. My only critisisim is that in my personal opinion for targrt work the MP8 reticle is a little heavy. The MP8 Xtreme is excellent though.

Re: IOR Scopes
I have the 4-28 tactical with 40mm tube.
One word - awesome.
Lower in price now and can be had for about £1600 inc rings.
I used mine at 1200yds last weekend and still had over a turn of elevation left.
They are heavy though!

Re: IOR Scopes
Thanks for your replies.
Tony, thanks for pointing that out - the rings would cost the best part of £125 (Tier one) so if I took the latter scope from my OP it might be worth spending a couple hundred more and get the 4-28 as you pointed out.
Weight shouldn't be of concern for me, I shoot rested off a bench or prone and don't shoot F/TR or F-Class so I don't have any weight restrictions. Are these scopes made from steel, titanium or something?

Re: IOR Scopes
Very good glass and heavy. Think Russian in build quality.
However dealership support has been patchy in the past. Border barrels had no end of problems which resulted in a large box full of faulty scopes which never got returned for fixing under warranty.
I did intend on investing in a second tactical scope but concluded it was too much of a gamble. I've no idea who their dealer is now nor how well they are supported.
