Insurance Options

Our shooting insurance is due for renewal in the next month and I'm looking at alternatives before I renew. Who's cover do people have, how much does it cost, are there any other benefits and god forbid anything ever went wrong, what's the claim process like?

I am aware of the following :

BASC
NRA
Sportsman
NSRA? (I'm familiar with Dromias position on this orgnisation )

This is for two adults, shooting full bore mainly on MOD ranges but sometimes private ones too. We also shoot small bore indoor. No hunting or clays etc.

I won't say who I'm with but I've had cause to call them for advice and generally they've been helpful. I'm minded only to change if there's a significant benefit to doing so as opposed to a price reduction.

Another thread leads me to believe that this might be a controversial topic so please lets just stick to the facts of how much, what cover is provided and what other benefits are there.

Do you mean insurance cover for firearms or public liability cover?

As a member of the Shooters Rights Association, I get public liability cover up to £10m per claim.

As well as target and clay shooting, this covers most shooting disciplines, for instance, deer stalking, rough/game shooting, archery, re-enactment, air soft etc.

They will also provide representation for members in firearms related disputes.

The annual membership fee is £35.

If you are an NRA member there is insurance as a benefit. It would be 'purpose built' for the shooting fraternity as long as it covers YOUR use.

Even try the insurers the NRA use as a private venture? They will be shooting orientated?
