Scotland is preparing to ask its shooters to answer a question of national importance to the future of the shooting sports north of Hadrian’s Wall.

My cheeky headline aside, is this a good thing or is it going to be another ISSF-only club with a name that doesn't actually relate to what it does?

It's a bit of a misleading headline Gaz. This has been on the cards for a couple of years and has moved forward after the Games. As Gallery Rifle is affiliated to the SPA which in turn is affiliated to STS it will include us.

The Scottish Shooting Centre of Excellence is also moving forward.

Associations merging, new shooting centres! Any of that happening south of the wall?

That's a good question - but the Scottish Government is supporting the new organisation and the new National Shooting Centre (300m/5m/25m + shotgun, in the Central Belt, but not necessarily on the same site).

...but the Roman Wall to further North of the Hadrian Wall also encloses some parts of Scotland!
Seems that a few folk still think Hadrians Wall is the most Northerly roman wall.

Would that be the Antonine Wall?, I seem to remember it from a history lesson in the dim and distant past......

The obvious answer would be to take a page from the Koreans book and mine the area between the two walls creating a DMZ :)
