FirearmsUK - Unity 2015

I see FirearmsUK are continuing to fight the good fight.

See link http://firearmsuk.org/unity-2015-the-next-step/

I think this is a good tactic, it has worked well for BASC and Countryside Alliance amoung others and if nothing else it will hopefully get shooters engaging directly with their MP's.

Getting the non-handgunners support remains the challenge but a worthy attempt at change and as good a time as any with the new Parliament starting.

Good work FirearmsUK :good:

Sounds good enough. I'll draft up an email and send it in.

Good!!! I'll certainly write in and spread the word too. I'll get my club involved and ask the secretary to send out the link too!

Does FirearmsUK's promotion of armed self defence not conflict with your sensibilities?

I didn't see anything in that page about that at all and given that legislation to support armed self defence is about as likely as Wales announcing it's splitting itself physically from the UK and having itself towed to the Bahamas, I'm happy to ignore it provided they help to repeal some of the stupid legislation under which we suffer.

Nothing is absolute. Extremism is the point of view of the simpleton that can only hold polar views in his tiny mind.

I'm well armed, left wing, semi-socialist, self employed, guardian reading, environmentalist and a firearms enthusiast with a taste for hand loading and I'm allowed to take each decision as it comes without doing what is expected of "my type"

Pragmatism wins some of the time, provided you've got a healthy amount of idealism that's not yet been beaten out of you. ;)

Ps. Just read that through and not calling anyone on here small minded, my points about extremism are general.

Yes, excellent argument there, consider my hat doffed and my tail between my cowardly turncoat legs. ;) lol.

Other than a blog post by Joshua Hicks (A certified American) I can't find any reference to armed self defence on Firearmsuk's website nor am I aware that they have promoted it elsewhere?

This unity2015 campaign is about the repeal of the '97 2nd amendment and hopefully garnering support from all corners of the licensed shooting community.

No one is talking about promoting armed self defense?

Out of interest will you be writing a letter to support the campaign?

Of course he won't. Why would anyone want to own a handgun except to defend themselves?

And how dare people try to defend themselves or have any sort of agency in their lives. That goes entirely against what left wing socialists and the Granuiad is all about.

Hey. There's nothing wrong with sloppy slepping. This "anti" will be organising support for sure" ;)
