Hi has anyone shot pistol in ni or can suggest a club to visit

There are plenty of clubs, but none that I am aware of that you can just turn up at. It would help if you had a contact that could maybe bring you as a guest, and you could use theirs or the clubs handguns.

NITSA at Newry just off the N1 about 1hr north of Dublin or 45mins from the liverpool boat.

As Ordnance says you can't just 'pay and play' you have to be either with a member or at a comp.

I believe its £200 to join and then £175 per year to be a member, the facilities are par excellence and theres even a little gunshop on site knocking out 9mm for £12 per 50 and they have a selection of Glock 17 club guns.

I'll be shooting there next week at their level 2 IPSC match, the 2nd of 3 they're hosting this summer, £30 for entry and use of club gun for free.

My advice if you want to shoot fullbore pistol would be to join UKPSA, get a competition license and then the worlds your oyster (depending on time & money of course).

I have been to Ballymena RPC. After a few emails I went up one night midweek while across there on business. Was made most welcome and given a variety of pistols and revolvers to shoot. Once they knew what I was doing, they let me get on with it with minimal supervision.

Great facilities too! Several ranges, IPSC set up and a great club house.
