It looks like South Yorkshire are on the ball lately.
Posted in a variation on Thursday, ticket was back with me the following Thursday!
They even gave me the ammo I asked for; 300 x .357 and 600 x .38spl!
Well done SYP!

Out of curiosity, what amount did you write in the cheque? The info on S Yorks website still says £26.00, but I know it dropped to £20. My dad was unsure, wrote £26 and I'm guessing they'll just send the cheque back and ask for the correct amount then?

It was a 1 for 1 so no cheque needed :-)

Our variation has been with SY for three weeks and nary a squeak from them so far. Most disappointing. When we were with Warwickshire they turned things around in between 5 to 10 working days.

Didn't realize you lived in S yorks Badger. How much did you put on the cheque? I told my dad it had dropped to £26, the info on s yorks website didn't seem to mention any change nor did the grant or renewal seem different either. Anyway worst comes to worst they'll send back toe cheque and ask for one with the correct amount (I remember him having to send a new cheque when the payable was changed to the police and crime commissioner and he still listed S yorks police).

We relocated to avoid the cull: this is our first dealing with SY. We sent a cheque for £20, payable to the crime commissioner, which we suppose could make us guilty of aiding and abetting...

Sent my cert off again on weds for another variation after selling the GSG, got a call today as I've asked for a muzzle-loading pistol but put .36/.44 for the calibre.
The lovely lady called to say their system only has .36-.5(something) on their system, would that be ok?
I was more than happy so she's processed it and it's just awaiting a signature, so should be with me again early next week!
I congratulated her on their speedy turnarounds to which she replied "shhh, don't jinx it!" :-)

why did you limit yourself to a specific ammount of 38 and 357? i just have 700rnds of 38/357 on mine, that way i can have whatever ratio i like

i like that you can basically have a choice of blackpowder though, i was told i needed to give a specific caliber
