A rifle for 2 miles!

#1 Post by M99 »

There is a new competition being held in the US this year, it is called the King of 2 Miles - it involves targets from 1500m to 2 miles (funnily enough) and is shot in teams of 3. 1 Shooter and 2 spotters.

The UK has 4 teams entered (Invite only this year) and with the help of the Shooting Shed, I have added some modifications to my rifle to help achieve hits out to 2 miles.

The package is not quite finished, I still have a rear monopod being built in Germany for me (by the Rifles designer and builder) along with the option of a bag rest from the Shooting Shed too.

Mods are:

Shooting Shed bipod extension - 300mm further forward, with the option of another 300mm and a Shed bipod for some of the shooting.
Shooting Shed oversized bolt handle
Shooting Shed adjustable cheek rest (essential with the beast of an adjustable base I have)
Cold Shot 150MOA adjustable base (On top of a 20MOA rail with a 30MOA TET unimount) - the base actually has 180 MOA of adjustment in 1/4moa clicks!
The scope is a trial/test from one of my sponsors and is a Bushnell XRS 4.5-30x50 FFP scope. (I am also taking 2 other scopes and will hopefully have something "Special" for the 2 mile event)
Mirage shield from Fierce Vinyl in the US.

From my 1k zero I need 212MOA out to 2 miles.

Still to come is a Shooting Shed paint job too!

Awesome. Absolutely, awesome. How big are the targets at 2 miles?

I really like the mirage band, is it made of anything special?
The above post probably contains sarcasm or some other form of attempted wit, please don't take it to heart.

Great looking rifle, didn't realise most of the mods were from the Shooting Shed! Good luck with training and the competition!
