An interesting challenge

#1 Post by dave_303 »

TFB have started up an interesting challenge regarding the 'Mad Minute' ignoring the debates around whether Snoxall did it or not etc.... the challenge looks like it could be good fun and they're also asking for others to demonstrate what seems to be possible from other service rifles.

If I had a spare £70 for the ammo (two tries) I'd give it a crack...

We can get off more than 38 rounds per minute with our jungle carbine, but we have to confess it isn't kosher. It's an AIA Lee Enfield No.5 look a likey carbine in 7.62x39, so the recoil is light and it takes 30 round AK47 magazines. And we don't always hit the bull either...

I reckon I could make it to 30... I have a habit of going into top gear without thinking every time I shoot a practice with a time limit. I'd need to weed out my tight stripper clips first though!

Allowing in such a comp other rifles like Mosins mausers or even k11s/k31s would certainly be of historical interest, to see if any other rifles, especially straight pulls could match the speed of the Lee Enfield or not. Perhaps something like that could be organised on F-B?

I reckon i could get through a 30 round mag in a straight pull AKM in a minute
