Looking to pick a few brains.......
My old ear defender wossnames are starting to fall apart, I'm not complaining though coz they've given good service since 1987, but before they completely fall apart I thought I'd replace them - and quite fancy those electronical ones, anybody use them? Any makes or models to go for, or avoid?
Or should I just stick with the old fashioned ones? My mate is coming over soon so any UK mail order dealer is the preferred supplier.
Any comments or experiences appreciated.

It depends on your budget really.
I've just picked up some Sordin supreme pro x's But with the Gel ear pads, they're not cheap. £210. But they are far and away the best headset I've ever used.

I use the MSA Sordin Supreme Pro-X as well and I would not consider anything else.

I've got the Howard Leight ones, they're a pretty reasonably price (read: some of the cheapest) and coped well with 2 days and over 300 rounds of 12G on the UKPSA safety course

Another vote for MSA Sordin Pro-X here, I also have the gel pads.
I also have a pair of Peltor Sport-Tac electronic "Deffs" and whilst perfectly adequate, they're not a patch on the MSA Sordins.
BTW I paid £189 recently for my MSA Pro-X.

Amazon seems to be the best price for those MSA ear defenders at £175.00 delivered

That's where I got mine...
just bumps the price up if you go for the gel inserts which come highly recommended, especially for those of us who wear bottle-bottoms :(

I've had the same for 5 years, still going strong. I have replaced the cups and inners, but you do that when the cups lose their sponginess anyway.

I can only echo the above - the gel pads make a massive difference when you're wearing them for along time, they are so damned comfortable.
