Quick question find anyone in the know....

Is a Hogue stock, the over moulded ones that seem abound, good enough to take an AICS mag conversion, for a SA Rem 700?

I want to do a mag conversion on my 700 LTR. Saddler may be right when he says I should leave the HS Precision LTR stock (smaller and slimmer than a Rem Police HS stock) alone. I could get another LTR stock, but at $437 list US, it's heading to the realms is ridiculousness! (Not as ridiculous as the firm if rifle builders wanted me to work for three days, to pay their gunsmith for three hours....!)

So, could I utilise the Hogue stock? Anyone done it?

This three days of work for the firm...were they supplying the janitorial equipment or was it a case of rucking up with your own bog brush & toilet duck?

Generally, I think the Hogue stocks are considered as much use as a chocolate fireguard....

I had one as standard on my Rem SPS Tactical, and when I mounted a bipod on the front sling swivel and rested the rifle on it, you could see the fore-end of the stock flex under the weight of the rifle.

I ditched it pretty quickly and got a Choate stock....

Yeah, as much as I thought, Daryll... Unless I get anecdotal to the contrary, it may be a non starter..

As you spend most of the day in your pants, eating beans from a tin, waiting to pick your girlfriend up from school, then adorning your next bit of S&M garb with fresh, rust proof buckles, I'd be surprised if you even understand the concept of "a day's work", ya gimp!
