Does anyone know what the original Day of the Jackal rifle was based on action wise?

When this came up years ago on another forum the opinion was it was a .22 Hornet but what model I don't know at present .
Here is a screen shot , looks very similar to a BRNO garden gun I have but that design was widely used . http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/The_Day_of_th ... iper_Rifle

Some cloth lugs in evidence today - I always thought "action" & "calibre" were distinctly different
The action seems to be a generic .22 sporting type, but the bolt assembly is unusual in that it has no handle on the side, instead the action is locked & opened using the knurled cap to the rear of the bolt.
Supposedly two rifles were made for the film, one being returned to the English makers after the movie was shot.
Stills frame photos seem to show the chambering was .22WMR

That I realise, I was merely questioning Dave's' (Dave101, not Ovenpaa) opinion of chambering.

Looks a bit like a Welrod style action.

I was fully aware of the OP , just giving a little insight that may help , once again you come out with the smart arse comments if there's one person on this forum who continues to be rude to other members its you Saddler . Many a time I have seen your sarcastic comments to members who then no longer continue on this forum .
Perhaps you are unaware of your attitude , if that's the case then I am letting you know , if you are fully aware of what you do then its about time you changed your ways .

Me too, but I think my Dad told me that the very first time I ever watched it, maybe around 1978 when it was on the telly.
He was initially up for helping me build an air rifle in the style of the DOTJ rifle, but my Mum's moaning changed his mind.
