Colt - the three most copied designs in the world - and fail

It seems that Colt really has hit rock bottom and their end may not be far way. Unbelievably sad for the 150 year old firm and anyone that's owned an 1851 Navy or Python will know what I'm talking about.

However, having a trawl through the net sees that Ruger have just introduced their "new" pistol....... a 1911! Have you seen how many firms do make a 1911? Even Colts one time biggest competitor, S&W, do! Even the Europeans with Sig and the South Americans with the Argies and Taurus turning one out.....

The three most copied designs in the firearms world were at one time made and were known as Colt........ the 1911 Government, the 1873 SAA and the AR15/derivatives! What a shame.

But two of them weren't Colt designs, so why shouldn't they at least be made by someone else?

Imitation is the best form of flattery. There are probably more 1911 derivatives than anything else.
