New competition rules.

Hypothetical...................

Take a well know range and have 10 matched rifles
all prepared by the same gunsmith and all loaded with
the same ammunition, loaded by the same person.

So in principle everything is equal. Then take the ten
best marksmen from any country and randomly allocate
the rifles and shooting lanes.

Would the scores be an accurate reflection of true talent
and would it prove that true marksmen can shoot any rifle
anywhere?

That used to be the Palma Match format, I think.

Broadly correct Gaz.

Also close to some contests for HM The Queen's Prize in the late 1800s.

And of course, not so different from any event for Servicemen using the issue weapon and issue ammunition - which encompasses about 60% of the history of the NRA.

And the current Service and Cadet competitions all use the same rifles and issue ammunition from the same factory batch.
