What do you think is the best eyepiece for a spotting scope for TR and MR? Not necessarily the same for individual shooting vs coaching vs plotting I would expect?

- Shothole / marker spotting
- Light vs. magnification
- Mirage
- Field of view for fall of shot across the range
- Eye relief

Some people I've asked seem to prefer 25-30x in either wide angle or long eye relief variants, but I'm interested in opinions.
I have TSN-1 scopes incidentally so I know my options are limited anyway!

Yes 25x or 30X times are ideal for what we do at Bisley and elsewhere; also the choice of some of the better more expensive eyepieces which are marked "W" or "WW" (Extra wide) will help to enhance any mirage on the day.

All of the above regardless of the make will keep you in good stead. I just happen to use an Optolyth 30X "W" because it was the only decent one around second hand when I was looking.

I have a feeling Fultons may have a Leica scope (32X) in their second hand selection at the moment.

Can't help you with the details, as I haven't use many different types, but what ever type; an angled eye-piece is much better for viewing from a shooting position...

I prefer a straight from prone! ;-)
As for the Kowa, there are usually eye pieces on the Evil bay. The TSN-1 will accept eye pieces designed for the 600 series too.

I prefer fixed power ones, but the 20-60× is not a bad lens.

I have the 40x in my TSN-2 most of the time.
