Red Dots

Right boys and girls, I have a M4 red dot on my AR, when its of the rifle it is a dot, but when I put it on the rifle it looks more like a very small line, at first I thought it was just how it was, but I have just got a Eotech, and that is the same, can anyone tell me why its like it is ?

Backwards, it is....use the other way around, you must!!

I get a similar thing with red dots due to my astigmatism.

Buying a TR24 solved it.

When you look through it off the rifle and on the rifle, are you viewing in the same lighting conditions and with the dot at the same brightness setting?

Are you applying a very tight cheek weld that might push your eye? Or if you wear contact lenses, move them slightly?

As mentioned long-sightedness call bugger up red-dots.

Get someone else to have a look through it and ask if they see the same. And take a photograph through the sight to see if thats the same too

If you've got an astigmatism it's really noticeable with an Eotech ret.
