Apologies if this has already been posted.

It seems 'The Tunnel' has been granted a Section 5 License (I assume to allow GB pistol team to train.)
Seems interesting, what does everyone think? Is it a sign of change for the better? Or does this benefit the few and not the many?

Very much the fewest of the few...
Given the location it'd be less of an arse on to jump on a ferry to, er, the land of 2CV's & garlic on everything!
Ya can buy .22 single shot pistols with no licence there too...
Maybe next time WE should surrender first? Look at all the advantages!

I saw that they were recently granted section 7.3 dealer status, plus section 7.3 club.

Its great news for Gorgs Geikie and the rest of the GB Shooting team as it'll give them a chance to train with cartridge .22 pistols and hopefully keep GB in the medals at the Commonwealth & Olympic games which can only be a good thing for our sport.
Its also important to note how much hard work the likes of Gorgs Geikie does to promote our sport in schools, clubs and the wider community but...
Its a big old screw you to all us other pistol shooters, particularly IPSC shooters who are also competing at the highest levels internationally for their discipline.
If an Olympian can be trusted then why not an IPSC shooter or an ISSF shooter or even a club shooter? The risk profile is the same and indeed it is probably less for a club shooter as they will likely be a better balanced individual.

Heard a wee runour that they were going to let you actually rent S5 - can't see that happening.
I bet some police areas are wondering how that got through - as should some club secretaries??

That will/can not happen.

We'll have to wait and see. Lots of things can't happen, but do.

Oh, just stuff in general. Lets just see where this goes with the Tunnel. I have always wondered though why the Team GB pistol shooting team doesn't practice in Northern Ireland though, but I guess this is less of a trek.

As great as this is for those involved, the risk here is that If the GB pistol squad and potentially in the future other top shooters can train in the UK, then there will be little or no reason for the government to ever repeal the Handgun ban.
