Prone Shooting - AR15 Buttstock LOP Problem

Well, not exactly a LOP problem but close enough!.

The LOP on my T3 in the MDT TAC 21 is set to the same length as my Steyr SSG-04 and I have a cheek riser on it, problem is, with my cheek in the correct place the buttstock is around 2" short of my shoulder. Moving the buttstock further back means my cheek is off the riser. The Steyrs cheek riser is about 2" further forward (closer to the trigger) so I have no problem using that.

So, I either need to extend the buttstock rubber by a good 2" or find some way of extending the cheek riser further forward (it will be about an inch over the buffer tube).

Hopefully the photo below will show what I mean, rifles are set with the triggers aligned.

A Magpul MOE or CTR with correct height riser might correct it for you. You can also get extended butt pads for a longer LoP

Black on OD is the 1/2" riser and OD on black is the 3/4" riser

Extended butt pad on UBR but also fits CTR (AFAIK)

I've still got the original LMT SopMod that came with it, it's a nice buttstock but I can't find a cheek riser for it, I may put it back on and glue a 1/2" Beretta Gel pad onto the top of it :)
