Has anybody used Polymorph?

This isn't exactly shooting related - perhaps - but I didn't know where else to post it.
Has anybody used Polymorph - this stuff ....

.... to do anything useful as a shooting aid. Customized grips come to mind, but I'm really more interested to know just what can be done with it, and more importantly, does it stand the test of time or does it break fairly easily after it has been moulded?

It sets a lot harder than Sugru, and seems to stay solid.
It has the advantage that you can keep re-heating it and remolding it, but unlike Sugru you can't use it to stick to things.
I haven't used it for shooting related bits, but have used it for making handles for things, and it seems to last very well, but as it softens when it is heated again you wouldn't want it to be in contact with anything that gets above about 45/50 degrees C.
I believe you can get some dyes that can be mixed in to colour the polymorph, but again haven't tried them.
Hope this helps/

If it's not got that little bit of give in it like Sugru you might as well use epoxy putty, cheap as chips, easy to mold and you can file/grind it afterwards. Permenant though

It sets as a hard plastic, where as Sugru is more like hard rubber.
It is a lot less sticky than epoxy putty, so might be better for molding round things where you want it to be removable.
The epoxy putty isn't going to be effected by heat in the same way that polymorph is.
On the price issue I don't think you would get anywhere near the same volume of epoxy putty for same money.
I think all three suggested materials have different uses, and have all three in the house at the moment.

I bought some black polymorph and used it to build up my grip on my pss stock when I had it, it was very easy to use and left a hard finish.

Used it a few times at work whilst modelling. Not really what your looking for as it can be prone to fracture. I'd try epoxy putty.

OK - thanks everybody. It looks like I'm going to have to get myself some and have a play with it. It's cheap enough so it's not going to hurt to try it.
