Again, maybe of passing interest to the UK but interesting to see how gun rights are defended - and how tow faced actors who make money from violence in movies become turncoat @ssholes and appear in anti gun propaganda.

I think what we can learn from the US, as compared to our own experiences post Dunblane, is this; "maintaining a dignified silence", which was the approach pushed by nearly all the national shooting bodies (whilst pistol shooters in particular were being demonised in the media) won't get you left in peace. It will get you trampled into the ground.

Taking the battle to the enemy will have the anti-gun control freaks frothing at the mouth, sure; but they are our sworn enemies already, so we have nothing to lose with them - whereas relentlessly putting our case, AND backing it up with provable evidence and logic, can change the minds of those willing to listen, as I've found in conversation with friends and neighbours.
