Badger contemplates a 5.56 / .223

Well oomans, we're contemplating a half pint rifle. We generally collect proper battle rifles in big calibres but we're now contemplating a half pint rifle, i.e. summat in .223 /5.56. Maybe .223/5.56 Wylde. What do you recommend? Our prejudice is towards bolt actions, maybe a CZ, but if you know better..

The Savages get very good reviews.
A mate has a 223 varmint on order.
I am looking at going "pink" too!

I've got a .223 R700 which does alright. I think its more me than the rifle affecting accuracy... but it seems well built and with a replacement trigger it's not too bad :)

What about the new Mossberg mvp, looks the biz to me

Tikka offer a superb T3 in .223/5.56x45mm, but be sure to get the 1:8 twist if you wish to use heavier bullets.
We have a T3 Sporter which is extremely accurate.
.223 Tikka T3 Sporter (1:8) - it now carries a Nightforce 8-32x56 Benchrest scope - this is a very accurate rifle.

Then back at 600 it's a little more unstable in the wind, however I have zero experience of reading wind and could definitely use some coaching....

Has to be in the running as .222 is a very capable little cartridge; ideal for badgers!
My Remington 700 Police is an early Armalon in .223.
Amazing accuracy and I've had it about 18 years.
Not had a lot of time with the .223 CAM or the 5.56 CAM yet, but they're looking to be well worth the effort finding.
A mate is about to sell his Browning BLR.
Converted to take Mini-14 magazines. Bull barrel.
Had LOTS of PR range time & dropped a few deer as well.
VERY fast cycling with the short lever throw on the BLR.
He's sacrificing it for Mossberg MVP

we don't think it wise to stuff 5.56/.223 rounds into a .222
