De-pinning a compensator

Well, it was quite a battle. STI decided to pin the Nordic comp on their Valkyrie model and I must say they did the welding afterwards quite well.
Took me ages (2 hours) to dig through with my wireless dremmel-like tool but I managed to extract the pin without damaging the threads.
Time for a Lantac Dragon!

Blimey, they didn't want that to come off again, did they!

Pinned and welded... What length is your barrel? If it's less than 16" it would have been done for the USA market.

BamBam it's 14.5" - yes, they made it for the US market. I admire how they managed to match the finish of the welding-was quite hard to find where to drill and I used an UV light to find the exact spot.

Yes, got it last month but did not have the time to de-pin the Nordic. Had to do it though since I have an incoming Level II in April and need some practice.
