Satern caliber specific funnel mod

BRYAN3 purchased a Satern 30-50 universal funnel to reload 38s with unfortunately he could not get it to work even after trying to modify by fitting a copper sleeve into the brass neck.
As he has no use for the funnel he kindly gave it to me.
I'm going to use a brass insert fitted with a o ring turned down to accommodate the 38/357 cartridge once I have done this I will make spare inserts in different sizes to suit all the calibers I shoot. So one funnel and universal inserts to fit all calibers.
Thanks Bryan. Its not quite finished yet need to cut groove for o ring and bore correct size hole for calibre and machine it so its a snug fit in the brass bit.

Well done Alpha.
And you are most welcome. Its nice to see it being sorted and used redressing my mistake in buying it in the first place. As a matter of interest though, did you try it at all as .30-.50 in its original state?

I now have my 6.5mm,just need a .35 cal now.
I think you will find it better in use than plastic versions.

ATB Bryan.

Here it is sitting on top of a 6.5x55 case I have just dropped a powder charge into steady as a rock and no spillage. I'm liking it. Thanks Bryan.

Glad you like it Mate.

I have just got in from gun club and switched on the lappy to find a refund notice from Brownells for the two funnels that went missing. A seperate email told me all future orders must be made through their European outlet.
So I looked on there at the .35 cal funnel, KINNELL- £24.00. Americans obviously know that we are accustomed to being bent over. So my 25 year old plastic Lee funnel is not to retire just yet.

I wish I could get hold of the aluminium funnels over here the brass bit is easy peasy its the funnels that are the difficult bit. If you can find a funnel supplier I can make them for any calibre you want.

Alpha.
I think you need craftmetalspinning.co.uk. They are in Cheshire and specialise in spinning.
