Rcbs chargemaster 1500

As above is the chargemaster worth the wonga?

I was also looking at importing one from the US as they appear to be several hundred pounds cheaper but only for their 110v model, as soon as you look at the 220v euro model it ain't much cheaper than here but someone's suggested you can just get a 240 to 110 step down transformer for not alot of money.

Yes they are worth the money for ease of use. One thing to consider is warranty, our first one started to error on calibration at about 6 months old and had to be returned to the UK reseller who refunded the postage and swapped it out on the spot. The one we use now albeit a few years old now also has the same error so will have to be replaced.

If you do have a failure in the first few months it is going to work out quite expensive to ship it back.

Don't bother with it.

Get a Targetmaster from the UK, hook it up with a decent balance beam scale and a cheap Lee powder dispenser or dippers and you will have a set up that is faster and more consistently accurate than any of the powder dispensers out there bar none including the much vaunted Chargemaster.

Warranty and after customer service second to none and being a UK company easy to contact as well as the equipment designer and owner being a member here.

Here is a review I did of it.

There are others on here singing the Target Masters praises so it is not just me, do a search.

Thirded :)

I use a Hornady Lock-n-Load auto dispenser I picked up in the US very cheaply, the Target Master I used before that was exceptionally accurate and faster than the Hornady, unfortunately being rather silly I sold it to Saddler :bad:

My club runs five of them side by side to help produce some of the best bespoke .308 ammunition available in the UK. We have had no issues with any of them and have loaded in excess of 60,000 rnds on them. Ours are all 110v using a transformer and were sourced direct from the USA.
If you can afford to, then buy one you will not regret it.

I've had a Chargemaster for the last six years, it gets used every day and is still going strong. The thing I like about it is the speed at which it dispenses the powder all the way down to trickle is adjustable.

+1 for the Chargemaster. The input voltage is 12V DC, so to run the 110v version in the UK you can use a 240V AC to 12V DC power adaptor as an alternative to a 110V AC transformer. I run mine off a 12V battery so I can load in my caravan. I believe some of the other dispensers (Lyman?) require AC input voltage so can't be run off a battery.

Get the Chargemaster. I've been using one for about 4 years and never a problem. You can get into a really fast routine with the CM - dump a load in the case, put the powder pan back on the scale and it will dispense automatically while you seat the bullet. Be careful not to jog the scale towards the end of the measurement or it will invariably under weigh. Otherwise superbly accurate and repeatable with most powders when checked against a beam scale - its just so much faster and convenient getting to exactly the same result as you would with a beam scale. Buy one you won't regret it; I'd never go back to using a beam scale and all that faffing about with tricklers and the like.
