Russian PBS-1 AK moderator/suppressor

Picked this up the other day from Oleg at Rusmilitary and tried it for the first time yesterday. It's a genuine Russian PBS-1 suppressor for the counter-clockwise 14mm AK thread. I was pondering whether to get one or not but given the current trade sanctions and the difficulty Oleg is having acquiring stock of virtually anything from Russia I thought I'd go for it, it's an interesting piece.

It reduced the noise of a supersonic 123gn round to tolerable levels without hearing protection. I experimented with some reduced loads which were pretty quiet but they still broke 1000fps so will play around a bit more to get them to around 950fps. Here I am on tin can alley with it:

Nice and actually a little bit envious :good: , now you need a PBS rear sight leaf for it ussrflag

without the suppressor your AKMS looks like the twin to mine, and probably the only two in the UK with Soviet stocks rather than the standard Romanian ones

Figured you would be along soon! I have looked for the rear sight leaf (although it sounds quite complicated to set up) but no-one seems to have them in stock at the moment.

I also recently acquired a .223 Saiga with folding stock which you might like, it's dressed in plum furniture. I'll put some pics up of too soon although I could do with a proper AK74 front sight and flash hider if you know where to get them?

Pm sent ussrflag

I part-exed my AKMS for my mates Dragunov and bought a Saiga AK-103 with the black polymer sidefolder......but at the range just before Christmas my mate pulled the AKMS out of his gunbag and I had to have it back so a deal was struck, he had the 103 and I got my "little tanker" back!.
