Hi,
I have previously used ESP in France when bulk ordering bullets, but to my dismay I received a message today stating that they would no longer do this. I followed up with a line of questioning, asking what had changed etc. but they would only confirm their original decision.
I'm not aware of any legal changes relevant to this decision, has anything changed ref EU imports?

Secondly, would anyone care to offer a personal recommendation for a company that they currently use in the EU who offer good deals on bulk bullets.

Try Klaus Pickert Jagd & Sportwaffen, a load of us on here used to get Nosler bullets from them.

Some prices were good when I used them. I dealt via email for everything. Their English is good but the site is Italian. There is a quantity discount structure.

I have use shooting supplies eu many times. The only real problem is that they have bugger all in stock!
Egun is also very good. Had some good deals off of there. Exchange rate is beneficial at the moment.
I have also used alpinhunting in Italy but only once. Very cheap and seems to be able to get most brass and bullets and optics.
However check with him (Karl) to see what carriers he is now using to the UK.
I had a heart stopping "moment" last year with an order that was stopped by border control!
He had used FedEx which is fine in Europe but against policy in the UK.
I got most of it but several bullet types all chucked in large box where they had ripped the oe packaging apart!
I have also used ESP and never had any success finding out why they wont post to the UK.
They will still sell other stuff and were quite good on scopes.

My preferred supplier of 9mm FMJ is Alsa-Pro (www.alsapro.cz). AFAIK they make 7.62x39 too. Pavel, the owner, is a shooter himself and a great guy to deal with.

I have been bringing in from Shooting Supplies, Luxembourg, various quantities of the H & N "Speed" bullets. These are copper coated lead in various calbres and sizes. The main impetus was the difficulty of finding non expanding target FMJ for the .22 Hornet in the UK. The H &N 45gn, loads just like an FMJ and seems good to usual Hornet speeds...the cost with postage for 45gn Hornet works out to less than £6 a hundred, subject to weight and size of order. The 308 bullets are equally good and I have just obtained some 321 for use in the 32/40. Sold as "target bullets to 100m", but judging from the hardness I can see no reason why they would not be good to 200m. Will not have the BC of a BTFMJ but a good substitute for cast, certainly in Hornet. The 308RN shoot very well in my 30/30 and my K31.

There seems to be a push in the EU for the banning of lead, and I understand that in some USA states, lead bullets are banned on indoor ranges...the H & N might be the future!

As usual, the only H & N agent in the UK (no names) does not or will not import these bullets but Shooting Supplies, Luxembourg are very obliging. I could not get any German dealer to supply.....found a willing Polish dealer but had language difficulties!
