Radway Green 7,62 brass

I have for some time been using MEN 7,62 brass with berdan primers to reload. No problem with that.
Having got some (free) once fired RG brass I reloaded them using the same technique.
I was using them over the weekend and have to say that considerable effort was required to close the bolt.
The brass was size with an RCBS small base sizer die and then pushed through a converted 45 ACP carbide die as a push through 'bulge buster'.
What else could anybody suggest to get them sized down a bit more?

First job is to see what is causing the resistance - as you've trimmed the overall length, it must be the base diameter or the base to shoulder length.

Sounds as if you've tried to get the base diameter down so I would guess it's the length - i.e the shoulder needs bumping a little. Two thou. too long will make bolt closing difficult.

If you "bulge busted" them after the full length size I'd run them through the full length sizer again to make sure no stretching occurred from any bulge removal and of course double check the case OAL again. I have an RCBS small base .308 die if you want to try mine and a Lee .308 modified to bump the shoulder back a few thou"
