Beagling a mould don't know if that's the right spelling can any one explain the process to me. I have a truck load of high temperature tape that's good for 350c. May as well make use of it. Ill donate a roll to the first one to give me a sensible answer it should last you a life time.

Its all on cast boolits.
I actually have a kit for beagling and modding Lee moulds.

Were about on cast boolits do you have a link. What does your kit consist of more info please.

All beagling is, is sticking a small strips of hi temp aluminium tape down the sides of the mould face by the cavities to hold open the mould slightly when casting thus enlarging the boolits diameter.

It was developed by John Goins AKA beagle on Cast Boolits and written up by him, hence the name Beagling a mould.

Used to be a common practice when all we had was undersized Lee moulds but rarely necessary now that it is so easy and affordable to get moulds made accurately to your own specifications.

Modifying/improving Lee moulds is called LEE-menting, can be applied to other aluminium moulds but none are as bad as the Lee ones.

The LEE-menting process was developed and written up by Rick Tunel AKA Buckshot on Cast boolits and can also be found on the link above including an article on LEE-menting kit.

Here's one I made earlier!

The mould is an RCBS 140gn .264 Silhouette.

It cast at .265 and I wanted to increase the bullet diameter for my Type 38 Arisaka.

As you can see, I applied 3 strips of self adhesive foil tape, bought from Wickes.

The bullet diameter has increased to .268 with virtually no flashing.

That's interesting I think I'm going to have to give this a go especially has I have a box of about 50 rolls of the tape.

It is self adhesive lagging tape the stuff you peel the back off the front looks like aluminium foil. Its lagging tape we buy it by the box load.

The tape and more importantly the adhesive backing have to be able to withstand temperatures of over 400 degrees for a few casting sessions. If it isn't high temp tape then it can become a sticky mess very quickly when casting.
