Bug out: where?

If we entered a time of Civil Unrest/Armageddon/Zombie Attacking, what would we do?

Bollox to all that. If I'm not sitting at my own reloading bench or my own armchair then there's a castle not far that has an operational draw bridge and well inside. Ill wipe out the hoardes of zombies from the walls with my trusty 22.

Scotsgun, good point about the .22, why drag a heavy rifle capable of sub MOA precision at long distances when a take down Marlin or 10/22 will do a great job out to 100 yards plus you can easily carry 2500 rounds on your person and stash countless thousands more in sealed up litre lemonade bottles.

Also using the landscape and buildings you know has to be a big plus.

Another thing, a bicycle would figure highly in my plans...

A bicycle..are you kidding? One grab or push and you're dumped on your arse or face. An afternoon with a welder, a landrover, a couple sheets of 3mm steel and a few length of 25mm box section and you have a zombie plow. You could have a hell of a time making zombie pizzas. It doesn't even matter if the fuels dry up as there will always be mountains of veg oil in the stores.

We all have our fancy rifles but I don't think you can beat a reliable 22lr semi and a robust service rifle (complete with bayonet)....oh and for me a Kukhri too.

Why become a refugee in your own country?

Shelter in place, with good friends and good neighbours this is possible.

The good neighbours thing is fine, but what if your neighbours don't have a decent supply of scoff?
I watch my neighbours get deliveries once per week. Never very much, and I've yet to see them take more than 4-5 bags in,

So you've got food. They haven't. How long are you going to stay good neighbours.....
Yes, I work for Lantac.

If your OPSEC is good, they don't know you have supplies.
Your neighbours might have a pallet load of mountain house hidden away and who's to know.

Nothing is risk free, but if you could band together with like-minded people then I suspect your chances of survival increase exponentially.
