I have always liked the look of the AR-1, never seen one in the flesh though. Does anyone know of an example here in the UK?

I'd have thought the British 7mm EM rifles should be in that list.

Certainly an interesting design, the recoil would have been rather lively at 6lb that's for sure, also I noticed the trigger guard/mag well appears to be a standard 1903A4 Springfield unit.

Doing a bit of a search over a coffee I found a couple of references to the AR-1 original concept calling for an aluminium/light metal receiver which is interesting. Sadly there is very little in the public domain on this particular rifle.
