HO club and training

#1 Post by mag41uk »

Is there a prescribed way of carrying out training for newbies at a HO approved club?
I am talking about gallery rifle and fullbore rifle.
Does the trainer have to have any qualifications to do the training?
Does the training have to be a minimum amount and/or follow governing body guidelines?
I would be interested in how other clubs carry this out.
Cheers,

Is this not detailed in the Home Office guidance notes?

My previous club has an extensive pamphlet on the subject which all new members must complete as they progress through the application process

For an NRA competency card, the training must follow the NRA competency card training programme.

For legal compliance, it's a minimum of 3 months as a probationary member being given a 1:1 course in the safe handling and use of firearms.
